Hi all, it's England's biggest game for a decade as they take on Columbia in Moscow. This game was seen as the most challenging game for England in the knockout stage as the group games ended, however since the weekend's casualties anything can happen. Gareth Southgate announced that the team would be the same eleven players that started against Tunisia at the start of the World Cup. The big headlines for Columbia were that Golden Boot Winner from 4 years ago, James Rodriguez was out of the game with an injury. Ex England players were saying this is the best chance for England since Germany 2006. If they win, they will face Sweden in the quarter-finals. Hey, all I thought I'd give the blog a break for a little while because I'm off on holiday for two weeks at the end of the week. But after this weekends matches in the World Cup which I thought could not get even more crazy turned out to be the opposite. Three big teams going out of the tournament, two global superstars being knocked out in possibly their last World Cup match ever, two penalty shootouts and England are yet to play their game. What a weekend and we've only just started the knockout stages of the competition. a dejected Lionel Messi as Argentina goes out Saturday featured two matches starring two of football's biggest superstars ever Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
