Fleetwood and Molinari star as Europe take advantage

Image
Europe had a hero partnership in Fleetwood and Molinari as they score 2 of Europe's 5 points. Hey, all I know yesterday I wrote a preview on the Ryder Cup well all day today if you were listening to the radio you would have heard what was going on in the sports bulletins. Well here's today's action rounded up in a day of two halves. Today's action was two different formats four-ball and foursomes. For a simple explanation, the format is when both players on the same team play with their own golf balls, and the lowest scorer out of the pair has the best score out of that hole, and if they score less than their opponents lowest score, they win the hole. Foursomes are very different. Both teams use one golf ball, and they take it in turns to play their shots. So for example, if Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia play together McIlroy will take the tee shot then Garcia will take the next shot for the rest of the hole. They can change the order if it needs a change of pace ...

Team Captains Jim Furyk and Thomas Bjorn Hey, all I know this a little different to the usual but this week in the golf world it's a little bit special. I know what you are thinking, golf is where people walking around for hours on a day, but this week it's not a tournament it's an event that has been around for nearly 100 years but provides entertainment every two years. It's the Ryder Cup.  If you don't know what it is, it's Europe's 12 best golfers who have the likes of Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia in the team. They were up against America's top 12 golfers which features the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Speith, and Dustin Johnson. Team Europe ready for redemption The match is remembered for moments of unbelievable stories and close events, and that was since the mid-'80s. The 2018 NFL season kicked off on Thursday night as the Super Bowl Champions Philadelphia Eagles won against Super Bowl 51 runners-up Atlanta Falcons. The last time these two played against each other was the divisional round of the playoffs and Atlanta were one play away from beating the Eagles. Also, these two teams as mentioned were the last two teams to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Philadelphia at the end of last season renegotiated Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles' contract, which was what they had to do considering that they weren't sure whether starting quarterback Carson Wentz might not be ready to play. Another key player Wide Reciever Alshon Jeffery was out as he was recovering from surgery that he had in the off-season. Wentz is still out as he recovers from his season-ending injury Meanwhile, the questions for Atlanta were would the Falcons offence get back to the standard they set in 2016. This season along with a top offence they have a defence that hopef...

The Eagles celebrating at US Bank Stadium in February Hey, all so seeing as the NFL kicks off tonight I thought I would do a quick preview. It's been 7 months since the NFL season finished with an unbelievable result in Minnesota. Still, the Philadelphia Eagles kick off their defence tonight against Super Bowl 51 runners-up Atlanta Falcons in Philadelphia. The Eagles have had their pre-season dominated with who would be their quarterback would it be Nick Foles who was the MVP in the Super Bowl or contender for NFL MVP Carson Wentz. Well, this week they decided to give the job to Foles because they are unsure about Wentz after his injury at the end of last season. Also for Atlanta, they are seen as one of the favourites as their offence seems to have improved, and they now have a defence that can match their high powered teammates and put less pressure on Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. Nick Foles is back and starts against the Falcons. Meanwhile, the runners-up of the Su...

Hey, F1 was back with two races on consecutive Sundays at Spa in Belgium and Monza in Italy. These were the las of the European part of the season, and now the last seven races are the so-called "flyaway" races. F1 has been on its summer break, and it has been busy with teams announcing drivers coming to race for the next year. One of the first big news was Force India which at the Hungarian Grand Prix was put in administration but was bought by Lawrence Stroll, father to Williams driver Lance, and had to start on 0 points, as it was classed as a new team. The other major news was the impending F1 retirement of Fernando Alonso as he was leaving to race in IndyCar after his stint in last years Indy 500. McLaren announced that Carlos Sainz would be replacing Alonso. Also, a significant headline was Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo announcing that he was leaving for Renault. Red Bull announced that they were replacing him with Pierre Gasly from sister team Torro Rosso. Vettel...
