England dominate hapless France

Image
Captain Farrell in for the try Hey, all I know it's been a while since I did a rugby review, but with England taking on France in round 2 of the Six Nations I decided that it would be a good time to do another review seeing as it's Rugby World Cup year. The weekend's other matches were Ireland defeating Scotland in Edinburgh 22-13 which gave Ireland a big win considering that they lost to England last week and Wales after coming back Paris last week made it 2 out of 2 by defeating Italy in Rome 26-15. These teams are playing against each other in the group stage of the World Cup later on in the year. England was coming in on a high after beating the second-ranked team in the world, Ireland in Dublin last week 32-20. They also had some changes with Courtney Lawes in for Maro Itoje and Chris Ashton coming into his first Six Nations start since 2013 replacing Jack Nowell.  A win with a bonus point would take them to the top of the group. No.1 Patriots edge past Panthers in the first Houston Classic

Image
Well, this is it my favourite Super Bowl of all time, and it has it all points, turnovers and a defensive showdown, with two very different half's.  If you thought Super Bowl 51 in Houston was good, this one was good, and it's the most underrated Super Bowl of all-time. This is Super Bowl 38 New England vs Carolina. Before I carry on, I want to give honourable mentions to the matches on that I haven't put on the list. They are Super Bowl 39, Super Bowl 40, 41, 48 and last year's. The reason why I didn't mention last years was that I reviewed it at the time, but if you want me to do a review on the matches, I'll do them. In Super Bowl 38 these were two very different teams. As the Patriots well they were still reliving the memories of their first win two years earlier; meanwhile, the Panthers were in a place that no one expected them to turn up at, around the same time as the Pats were celebrating. A dejected Jake Delhomme The Carolina Panthers' ...

Number 2: Eli and the Giants stun the Patriots

Image
The game just missing out is a game that I didn't respect until a few years ago now when I look back on it I've come to realise how good the game was. Super Bowl 42 one of the most shocking games of all time however it didn't look to happen according to the experts because the overwhelming verdict was that the Patriots would crush the Giants in a showing of what the best offence of all time had to offer. Randy Moss acquired through free agency. The Patriots were entering the 4th Super Bowl visit in the decade and playing with a top talented offence with Brady leading them back with an upgraded offence compared to the first 3 Super Bowl wins. The main upgrade was acquiring veteran receiver, Randy Moss. They were also chasing history to be the 2nd team ever to have a perfect season and go 19-0. Along with Moss and Brady, their defence was also talented with some of the players remaining from their earlier Super Bowl victory like Richard Seymour Teddy Bruschi, Mik...

No.3 Biggest comeback in a Super Bowl ever

Image
Brady winning his 5th Super Bowl Number 3 well it has to be the only game that went to overtime. The Patriots were returning to Houston. Meanwhile their opponents the Atlanta Falcons were looking to end successive failing seasons. It was also Atlanta's second Super Bowl appearance the last was when they lost Super Bowl 33 to John Elway's Denver Broncos. The Patriot's 2016 season started off with Tom Brady missing 4 games because of the 2014 deflate-gate scandal. However, despite that, they still made it to the playoffs with a 12-4 record and the Number 1 seed in the AFC. The one difference for the Patriots in this Super Bowl compared to last time was that they were without Gronkowski because he was out with a season-ending back injury. They also traded Jamie Collins in the regular season, and Vince Wilfork left the team after the Super Bowl victory 2 years earlier. However, despite that, the team went back after defeating the Houston Texans in the divisional round 3...

No.4: Pats end a decade of disappointment.

Image
If New England needed a hero. Number 4 is Super Bowl 49 where you had the number one ranked teams and a highly rated quarterback going against a legendary defence. This game was one of the most closely fought matches of all time. It also provided one of the most controversial moments in NFL history. And it sparked the end of a potential dynasty and the start of one that is still developing to this day. Brady playing with his reputation on the line For the Patriots it has been a case of so close yet so far. Since their last Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl 39, they had been to the Super Bowl twice. Both times going against the New York Giants and losing to them on both occasions with miraculous plays involved in the winning drives. Their 2014 season hadn't started off well as they were 2-2 with the worse being a 41-14 defeat at Kansas City on Monday Night Football. And the pundits were talking about it being the end of the Tom Brady era in New England and that the Patriot...

No.5 Rodgers and Packers outlasts Pittsburgh

Image
Number 5 well it has to be Super Bowl 45, with two legendary franchises battling it out in a state where everything is more prominent. The two teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers. The Steelers were looking for their seventh Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Packers were playing for their 4th Super Bowl win and 13th NFL title (they were one of the original members in 1921). These two teams were meeting up for the first time ever in the Super Bowl, but the history of them immediately caught America's interest. Another story that came out was how one corner of Pittsburgh had split loyalties as the Head Coach Mike McCarthy was born and raised in the city. Out goes Holmes, incomes A.B.  The Steelers were back two years after their last victory. However 2010 didn't start well for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as he was suspended for the first 4 games, Pittsburgh ended up going 3-1 during his absence, but he rallied the team to a 12-4 record earning the...
