NFL international series review October
Hey, all It's been another crazy month of NFL International Series football this time at the home of Rugby Twickenham. The two games were the LA Rams vs the Arizona Cardinals, and the last game was the Minnesota Vikings vs the Cleveland Browns. This time the games featured none of the Anthem protests that dominated the headlines at Wembley. Also, this was the second year that the games were being played at Twickenham to make it easier to organise and see if that another stadium could play NFL games rather than having to make it difficult for Wembley. Twickenham hasn't been a fan favourite because of the transport in terms of getting to the game compared to Wembley. Also, some fans haven't seen it as a right place because of the cultural argument between American football and Rugby here in the UK.
The first game was the Rams and the Cardinals, which was the only game to kick off at 6 o'clock in the evening to make it easier for the teams home fans to watch the game. Especially after the Rams complained of the early time that it started at because their fans live on the West Coast with a time difference of 8hours behind us. The dominant performances carried on as the Ram's carried on with their dominant Offence and Defence performances from the start of the season. The Rams were resurging this season after years of 8 win and 7 win seasons under old Head Coach Jeff Fisher. The Cardinals two years out from being one win away from playing in Super Bowl 50 the team are not playing to the standards that they set in the 2015 season. During the game, all of the fans seating in the Stadium was looking forward to the game. But had heavy hearts after hearing of the death of one of the Sky Sports NFL crew Kevin Cadle earlier in the week, and everyone wanted to pay tribute to the man that every Sunday welcomed them to every NFL Sunday.
The following weekend regular kickoff time service resumed, and the last game of the series was the Vikings and the Browns. The Vikings were looking to take over the NFC North after they took out rival Green Bay Packers quarterback Arron Rodgers to give them an equal chance of going to the playoffs. The Vikings took on the Browns with an opportunity to extend their lead in the NFC North and challenge for the number one seed for the playoffs.
That ended the 2017 international series in London and with 5 games next year and Tottenham's new ground coming into being used next year the series is just getting bigger and better. I'll be back soon.
