Brook's attempt at redemption came to a win in Sheffield, While Wilder goes for Joshua with a hard fought win in New York

Hey, all seeing as Saturday Night was a big night in boxing with Kell Brook vs Sergey Rabchenko, followed by Anthony Joshua's potential opponent Deontay Wilder was fighting Luis Ortiz in New York, I thought I would do my first ever boxing review. Brook was fighting in Sheffield to get a shot for the IBF welterweight title that he lost last time to Errol Spence Jr. Meanwhile, Wilder is fighting in New York in defence of his WBC Heavyweight Championship and wants to win so that he can set up the clash of titans fight against Britain's own Anthony Joshua who fights Joseph Parker at the end of the month.

Brook has had a tough year and a half with two eyesocket injuries, the first one was against Gennady Golovkin to the right eye and then injured the left in his defeat to Spence Jr last May in front of his home fans at Bramall Lane. This fight against Rabchencko is Kell Brook's first ever outing in the super-welterweight has decided to step up a division for new chances and a shot at a world title at this division. Brook is coming into the fight with 36 wins and 2 defeats while Rabchenko is coming in with the same amount of defeats but 29 wins.

Meanwhile, Deontay Wilder is one of the hottest boxers to come out of America for a long time and he's been talked about as one of the potential greats of boxing and is seen as flying the flag for America which has had a rough time with popularity with the fans at home, a majority of the American viewing public preferring to watch UFC especially as they have seen the popularity of Floyd Mayweather fade as his career slowed down, and also unlike Boxing in UFC if the fans want their favourites to fight that is arranged at little expense. This came prominent last year with a huge interest in the Floyd Mayweather vs Connor McGregor fight in Las Vegas. Wilder wants to take over the mantle of Mayweather and prove that he is the best boxer in the world, he has been challenging Anthony Joshua for a fight since the AJ-Klitschko fight at Wembley Stadium. The belief is that if Wilder wins and AJ beats Parker in Cardiff it will be Wilder vs AJ, either in England or possibly a big night in America.

Brook ended the fight very easily within two rounds out of a 12 round fight. The first round was standard both boxers feeling each other out.In the Second round Brook knocked out Rabchenko on the chin and Rabchenko lost his legs and collapsed. The result was a straight knockout as Rabchenko couldn't get up before the count of ten. Brook won the Super Welterweight championship making it 37-2. Brook could face another British boxer in former Olympic silver medallist from the 2004 Athens Olympic games Amir Khan if he wins his fight in April.

Wilder was coming into his fight with one eye on Ortiz but the other on Joshua. Like the Brook fight, this was a 12 round fight. the first round was all Ortiz as he tried to intimidate Wilder. The second round was again Ortiz as it looked like Wilder was looking to go longer into the fight and wear Ortiz down. After three rounds the experts were having Ortiz leading the scorecard. In the fifth round, Ortiz was knocked down but was saved because there were less than 10 seconds in the round to save him being knocked out after being clipped by a right hook. After 6 rounds Sky Sports Johnny Nelson had it as a one-point lead to Ortiz. In the seventh Ortiz gave Wilder a tough fight as Wilder was stumbling around and was looking to finish him with two jabs to the chin. He was still staggering at the beginning of the 8th round but managed to regain his composure by the end of the round. Wilder looked like he won the 9th round as Ortiz looked spent. Wilder hurled Ortiz and then knocked him down but got back up before the count and then Ortiz got knocked down 5 seconds later and beat him in a knockout in the 10th round.

I hope you all enjoyed it the next boxing review will be the Joshua-Parker fight at the end of the month.
