What a day!! Hamilton wins, 5 set thriller and World Champions.

Sunday was chaotic for British sport as three events dominated the TV channels with England taking on New Zealand in the Cricket World Cup Final at Lords, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer battling out to win Wimbledon and at Silverstone, the British Grand Prix was taking place, all in the space of 9 hours. For over a month England has been hosting the ICC One Day World Cup and they took on 9 teams including Australia, South Africa and India. England came in as favourites as being the most dominant team in the last 4 years after getting humiliated in Australia. However, they were almost knocked out in the group stage and had to win their last 2 games to qualify for the semifinals. They then defeated the 5 time World Champions Australia at Edgbaston in the semi-final after crushing them by 8 wickets to spare. Heartbreak for the Lionesses

What a soul-crushing night. England's lionesses were taking on the best women's football team in the USA in the semi-final of the World Cup in Lyon. England made it to the semi-finals in Canada 4 years ago. The USA is 3 times World Cup Champions and won it in Canada 4 years ago. To take on the USA England manager Phil Neville made a change in goal as Karen Bardsley was injured and Carly Telford was in the squad. Also, Beth Mead started in the left-wing replacing Toni Duggan and Rachel Daly replacing Fran Kirby. Meanwhile, the USA were without star Megan Rapinoe. The winner would take on either Sweden or the Netherlands in the final on Sunday.
