Warm Welcome

Hi, there sports fans. My name is Mark, and I'm the new to blogging never done it before, so I want to introduce myself and explain what my blogs are about. I had just graduated from the University of Keele in July 2017, and for my final year dissertation, I decided to base it on an issue in a sport that I followed with a passion and had played a few games in. My love in life apart from my family, friends, and cats are sports. You name it I love to watch it or read up on it whether it would be game reports, notable signings, or significant issues being brought up. The main sports I follow are football (big Birmingham City fan Keep Right On), Rugby (Union or League), Cricket (Warwickshire County Cricket and England fan), Formula One, NFL (Green Bay Packers), I also follow a fair amount of Golf, Tennis, NBA, Athletics, and Boxing.

Like I said earlier, I love my sports. My first football game was seventeen years ago when my dad took me to my first Birmingham City game at St Andrew's. I have been a season ticket holder from 2001 to 2013 when I left for the university as the team was (and still is), playing in the Championship. And the idea of having a season ticket was impossible because they could be playing on a Tuesday night and I would have lessons on Wednesday. I have seen some of Birmingham's biggest games in that period like watching them play in two league cup finals, losing in 2001 to an excellent Liverpool team (with a young Steven Gerrard, a goal-scoring Emile Heskey and that year's Ballon d'Or winner Michael Owen as an unused substitute) on sudden death penalties on sky television. And then watching them at Wembley ten years later beating Arsenal, winning promotion to the Premiership three times and their four home matches in their Europa League appearance. I've recently just become a season ticket holder again.

Another sport that I love with a passion is the NFL. The first game I watched was Super Bowl 37 (Tampa Bay vs Oakland). I became a Packers fan a few months later after watching them play on Channel 5's coverage of the NFL and seeing Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre play just an almost perfect game on national television. And then watch them throughout the years seeing them win memorable games including their Super Bowl 45 win in 2011 and through severe defeats including three NFC Championship games (that's the game that decides who plays in the Super Bowl). I have even travelled to America with my dad for a special 21st birthday treat in watching the Packers play their rivals, the Chicago Bears in Chicago and then spent a couple of days in Green Bay, Wisconsin itself. In the beginning, I mentioned a dissertation well; this is the sport I based it on as it fitted into my university degree.

Now you know who I am and my love of sports. I'm going to explain what I'll be writing about. I'll write about essential sports news and events and give you the up to date news on what is going on. I'll also be writing up on previews of significant events and the reviews. This will include some sports biggest events like the Super Bowl, significant finals and even on events happening off the field. I'll be giving you all the updates on everything that is written by some of top pundits and analysts on the airwaves and also in the papers from both the UK and America and what they think about the situations. Now you know who I am and what I am going to write about. I hope you all enjoy it.

KRO Mark
